A Musical Tribute to Carlie

On a cold Wednesday morning in November 2019, the Austin chapter of the Texas Federation of Music Clubs held a special tribute for Carlie Burdett to showcase her original music and poetry. Her family was invited to attend, and they were seated in the front row together to enjoy the performances hosted at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Austin.  The musicians brought her music to life while feeling her absence at the same time. Texas Federation of Music Clubs Convention

At the Texas Federation of Music Clubs Convention in Lubbock, Texas, Carlie’s setting of “In the Evening”, a poem by Fenton Johnson, is declared the winner of TFMC Music in Poetry Challenge for 2017-2019. Carlie accompanies for a Musical Interlude. At the Memorial Service, Carlie performs her “Adagio Peace Medley” as the Prelude and Postlude Music.
