Carlie Cards for Sale!
When you lose someone you love so dearly, it’s so hard to get rid of their things or even to put them away.. such was the case with my mom’s old music theory posters. I love them and they remind me of my very happy childhood in Hereford, Texas, running around our backyard with my brother and sister or playing make believe on my bedroom floor. In the afternoons, my mom would be in the living room teaching piano and lessons to elementary school kids.
To help teach the kids and keep them engaged, she hand drew these posters to help kids tap along to a rhythm and visualize how rhythm works. I always loved them but after she died- do I just throw them out? Stuff them under the bed? They are too large to put them all up on a wall, but I wanted to be able to see them. They are large poster boards and the ink is fading, having been drawn in the early 1970s.. more than 50 years ago. So… I made greeting cards made out of them! I feel like this is the perfect tribute to my mom because she was in the very sweet habit of sending cards to her friends and family, delivering love directly to their homes, without intrusion. Just thoughtfulness.
These cards are now available for sale on Etsy – please check them out if you’d like!
